Will glenvar be able to pull it off this year? Or will MP remain champs? Who knows Covington or Rural Retreat could surprise everyone.

If I was a betting man i'd put my money on Glenvar this year. You can argue my rankings seem biased, but even so numbers don't lie. When doing my point system Glenvar was in 1st with 62 points. Then I did MP and they were in 2nd with 42 points. That is a lot of ground to make up IMO.

After watching Glenvar yesterday at big blue i would say they will take enough wrestlers deep into the state tourn to win. They had 3 or 4 wrestlers in the finals last night, but no champs. You have to consider the competition that was there.

Im not a fan of Glenvar and my opinion is pretty much unbiased but i think Glenvar will dominate states this year... I was at the Ram Rumble and personally viewed prettry much all Manassas Park has too offer and was not impressed at all... Mathews placed higher then them. and if im correct i believe they didnt even put anyone in the finals... although Macgivalry or idk if thats how you spell it looks to be a tuff contender this year at 152 giving Raymond Balog of Courtland a 2-0 match that in the first looked as if wouldve gone the other way.. and Ray Balog won the tournament be techfall.. Ive also seen glenvar and they are mad tuff this year and i dont think any 1 team can handle what they will bring states~~!

My son Daniel McGillivray was the one who gave Ray Balog a tough match in the simi's at 152lbs. Ray's dad and I were standing right next to each other at mat side during their bout cheering for our sons. It was a great match and could have went either way. After the match I shook Ray's dad's hand and said "good match, this should have been in the finals".
We got to talk for a few minutes latter on in the day and they told me that Ray was undefeated and that Daniel was the only one all season to come that close of almost beating Ray. I asked them if they had ever wrestled Brian DelGrosso before (the kid that Ray was going to met in the finals) they said no. I told them that I thought that Ray would beat him easily at least by a major decision. I really thought that Ray would Tech or pin him and that the bottom half of the bracket was week. I stuck around to watch the finals and congratulate Ray after he won.
They are good people to bad we won't run into them again we would like a rematch (LOL). At least we will be able sit and talk some more at states, see you then guys.
Dennis McGillivray
